C.I.A dinner / ball

hey where are u now, im at a CIA dinner. hahaha....

the 50th anniversary of christmas island as a teritory of australia.....
the 10th anniversary of the formation of CIFA (christmas islanders and frenz association)...
venue: burswood entertainment complex grand ballroom
date: 5th october 2008
time: 5pm pre dinner drinks, 6-11pm
dress: lounge suit

in the morning, i had to go up north to work and bring rob out to centro galleria since its open in conjuction with telethon 2008. wasnt a good outing trust me. having ppl staring at u tinking wat the heck is tis asian chic doing wif tis white aussie disabled guy is just madness.

got home about 2.30pm. hungry like crap. i still had to eat, take my bath, straighten my hair, put on my dress, put make up and fill my clutch wif stuff. got everyting done wif a few minutes to spare cuz my aunt hasnt come home yet. we left the house at about 4.15pm, heading to burswood/casino/entertainment centre. pre-dinner drinks from 5pm onwards. did someone say drinks? lets go :P headed to the VIP lounge and there were waiters and waitresses holding trays of drinks ranging from bubble pop water, lift, coke rite to champagne. now did i mention champagne? me favourite. why my fav? cuz it was my first alcoholic drink ever. *gulp gulp gulp*. super bad idea to even touch the champagne glasses cuz i got red instantly and boy was it bad. dinner hasnt even started and i'm oredi drinking wif su may.

the han brothers arrived, omg kevin, so handsome :P my eyes were just drawn to him lor, wished tat he was my escort of the nite but i had someone else. then the wong brothers arrived. jeremy looking good wif his new hair cut shorter. eric intro his gf, rachel to us. then my date/escort/chaperone Darrell arrived. i knew before hand tat he was gonna wear pinky tie wif matching hankie and cufflings. looking hawt :P i have to say, he looked really good suited up. my date wor, sure la must look good rite onot hehe. really bad idea to drink, not oni was my face red, my ears were screaming HOT!

D took his elbow out and i slipped my elbow in. he told me that he din have a proper date for his high school ball and tat it was nice tat he has one now. i felt touched hehehe. knowing tat i too didnt have a proper date for my high school and college prom, it was a good ting tat i had D. very gentleman lor. escort me to my table and left for his. then i finally was able to swap tables wif one aunty tat was on the youngie table. weee...took a few pix. D pulled my chair for me to sit. aiyer..i so fatt hiao now leh. i just luv being treated like a princess. althou he's not my actual bf or partner, it still made a difference. he served me drinks and then the evening started. he called me DEAR! wat did i answer him? i just looked at him and said, dun call me tat, it sounds weird. and he agreed.

before everyting started, as every chinese function will have it, the lion dance. 3 red lions. omg, one of them so funny lor ok. kept following me eh. i touched it then it was like dancing in front of me, the mouth biting me, and the tail waggling behind me. so cute!! omg omg, then i went and spank the lion's butt, and again it danced in front of me. then the lion head open and the guy was like, u look cute. hahahahaha. i was larfing larfing lor. i never played wif the lions for such a long long time oredi lor. i get to touch his eyes, his nose, his mouth, and his butt-wagging-tail. MUAHAHAHA!! i tink it was jumping around next to me for about 5 minutes lor until it got pulled away. too cute too cute. my cousins were like larfing cuz it kept following me. and before tat rite, the live camera, my gosh, whereever we go, the camera sure pointing at our direction lor. tat one im not perasan k, its true. the camera guy wasnt tat bad looking either, hint hint.

speeches is like a MUST lor. so we just sit and listen abit dun listen a bit. tats the boring bit of every function really. our menu for the nite is as follow:

1. five varieties platter (spring rolls, dumplings, jelly fish wif duck, chilled chicken, and prawn salad.
2. shark's fin with abalone, crab meat and chicken soup
3. bbq pei par chicken
4. stewed duckling with yam
5. steamed fresh whole fish
6. kwei mei lobster
7. mongolian lamb
8. vegetarian delight
9. seafood fried rice
10. last but not least the sweetened red bean soup...

sorry folks, no pix of the food. wasnt tat awesome to be honest wif u. by the time the 5th dish came, i was oredi omost full cuz i drank a lot of water. too much msg man! then in btw dishes, got singing presentation (madam linda tang), live band (scott quek & the boys), shandong dezhou acrobatic troupe performance, soul mystique's magic show, more live band (adam vee & the shadowmen). the acrobatic performance was excellent lor. very skilled. then thumbs up for soul mystique's show. they danced and erm the gal does tricks where she changes into another outfit in like a split second lor. i was like clapping so hard. i was just amazed. oways see on tv but tis is first live one. really wanna noe how to do it lor, magnificant! i told D i wanted to kidnap her and ask her the trick. he said tis and i burst out larfing:

'i will not allow u to show ure undies on stage to everyone..'

couldnt take pix of the magic show cuz too bz watchin and couldnt even blink my eyes for a second if not i will miss a good change hahaha....

then the nite went along wif introduction to special guests for the nite. one of them is my ah poh. she is the oldest living islander. 98 years old the. then after all the food is served, the dancefloor was open together wif more live band performance. let me tell u one ting, if they were playing more modern songs, i would drag everyone and lets hit the dancefloor. but insteed, they were songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s!! cha cha cha...hahahaa. no thanx. take a few more other pictures lor. as usual, the han brothers oways make an exit even before the nite actually ended.

oh, our waitress was super bad. she kept spilling tings all over. kena may's camera, dropped my prawn, spilled duck sauce all over darrell's chair and just missed by an inch from his suit (lucky D wasnt even sitting down), and omost spilled fish sauce onto me. i cant complain, its not easy being a waitress but hey, ure working for burswood eh, shdnt u be well trained first??

sorri peepz, i have got no pix. the whole nite, the most camera used was by D, jeremy, eric and su may. so hopefully D gets all of the pix from them and then pass it to me. i would estimate more than 2 mths before i get those pix?? patience wont kill anyone would it?? i dun tink i wanna rush them. at the end of the day i will get it geh, hopefully hehehe. or at least if they post it on facebook i can go curi and put for tempo view haha. came back and had the blackest face ever. its about rave again lor, u could have tot oredi rite? i dun wanna blog about it. too depressed to do so. lets just put one sentence tat she told me:

'u so upset....i dun wan to be the person who makes u upset lor'

the nicest ting ive heard since i dunno when. i dun wan to be a biatch in her eyes but tats just me. if i dun get the ting tat u say u would do, i will totally get pissed. its not a promise tat u made, but still, dun say it once and turn it the other way around the next. ive had too much of tat in the past relationship and really, i dun need anymore than wat i oredi have had. slept at like freaking 3.30am. was oredi sleepy and tired when i got back, but just had to sorta settle the issue if not, i tink i wont be sleeping at all lor.
